Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) will host a Safe Schools, Strong Communities event Oct. 1.
From 5 to 7:30 p.m., families will hear from school and community safety experts and have the opportunity to participate in conversations about keeping children and families safe. There will also be discussion of practical strategies families can use to create and foster safer homes and communities.
Age-appropriate sessions for children in grades 3 through 5 and grades 6 through 12 will also be held. Childcare is available for younger children on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event will be held in the cafeteria of North Point High School at 2500 Davis Road in Waldorf is in partnership with CCPS, Johns Hopkins University's Center for Gun Violence Soluntions, the Charles County Department of Health and Maryland Center for School Safety.
